CanWePaddle is a simple informational site. We keep data collection to a minimum.

Your location

The “near me” tool uses your browser's geolocation only after you tap the button, and only to sort rivers by distance in your browser. We do not store or transmit your coordinates to our servers. If you enter a ZIP code instead, it is sent to a third-party postal-code lookup service to convert it to an approximate location; we don't retain it.

Accounts & cookies

There are no accounts and no login. We don't set advertising or tracking cookies of our own. If we add privacy-respecting analytics or advertising in the future, we'll update this page.

Affiliate links

Some gear links may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a small commission if you buy — at no cost to you, and with no effect on our verdicts. Any such module is clearly disclosed.

Third-party data

Streamflow data is fetched from the U.S. Geological Survey. Map links open Google Maps. These services have their own privacy policies.
